This day-night electronic outdoor dance music festival— over the full moon — features someof SA’s top DJs and electro bands, in the most sublime riverside setting.
“River Fest is inspired by the production of massive indoor commercial events,” says
seasoned festival organiser Calvin Pfaff. “We’re creating a festival that has that same level of sound architecture and décor; combined with outdoor festival energy. Festival-goers will experience the music and the beautiful venue from all aspects of the spectrum. There’s a lack of outdoor commercial festivals in the EDM market in Cape Town—and we’re filling that gap.”
The opulent grooves will start at noon-sharp and the organisers have created a musical journey building to the point where the full moon fills the sky, from there the music continues till 4am.

The lush sounds match the equally luscious scenery of the banks of the Berg River. Expect cutting-edge beats from slick and groovy, Tech House and Deep House to layered and textured Balkan, Electric Swing and Electro, to welcoming the deep night with Dubstep and Drum & Bass.
Not just an aural feast, but a visual one too. “People can expect insane staging and lighting,video mapping, lazer shows, and décor that you’ve never seen before at commercial events—as often only lighting is the focus at those types of parties. We’re creating somethingunique!”
Added to the uniqueness of River Fest attendees can look forward to
jumping castles, water slides, and an inflatable island floating on the river. Perhaps a few surprises too.
Upmarket, yet laid-back, River Fest is comparable to international festivals such as: Ultra Music Fest, Glastonbury’s Electronic stage, the full moon party in Thailand, and locally events such as Up the Creek—though packed with EDM swagger.
Attendees will be treated to high-end drinks such as premium spirits and bubbly to ice cold beers and buckets of cocktails. Food trucks will be on-site offering a variety of menus that promise to sate both meat-eaters and vegetarians. From music, to drinks, water toys and more, River Fest has done the thinking for you. All you need to do is set up camp in the spectacular surrounds, and don’t forget to bring
swimming gear to take advantage of the incredible Berg River. Bikinis are a must, clothing is optional.
